Directions

1

Select your bin of choice. We recommend bins with lockable lids if you’re transporting this activity from room to room, or aluminum pans that have higher walls for easy cleanup and less mess.

2
graham crackers in a plastic bag crushed by rolling pin

Crush the graham crackers into crumbs and add a few tablespoons of water for a more moldable, sand-like texture.

Tip

Use a plastic bag and a rolling pin to gently crush your crackers or use a food processor if you want quicker results.

3
graham cracker "sand" spread over tray

Spread the graham cracker crumbs evenly onto the bottom of your bin.

4
sensory items added to bin full of graham cracker sand

Assemble your sensory bin with the chocolate pips, marshmallows and any other sensory items that would create a fun and soothing experience.

5

Have a bowl of soapy water and a towel nearby to clean hands off quickly. Not everyone enjoys the feeling of sticky fingers!

Ideas & Inspiration

You can expand your sensory experience to include even more Hershey Candies! Instead of using just your fingers, try using TWIZZLERS Twists to write or create shapes in the graham cracker crumbs. For a fun stacking experience, use ROLO® Creamy Caramels with Chocolate Candies or JOLLY RANCHER Hard Candies as building blocks. Make sure little ones are always supervised when playing with small items!
