Ingredients

  • 2 cups
    sugar
  • 1/2 cup
    butter or margarine (1 stick)
  • 1/2 cup
    milk
  • 1/3 cup
  • 2-1/2 cups
    quick-cooking or regular rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup
    peanuts unsalted, chopped
  • 2 tsps
    vanilla extract

Combine sugar, butter, milk and cocoa in medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to rolling boil; boil and stir 1 minute. Remove from heat.

Immediately add oats, peanut butter, peanuts and vanilla; stir to mix well. Quickly drop mixture by heaping teaspoons onto wax paper or foil. Cool completely. Store in cool, dry place.

Tip

Treats can be dropped in paper candy cups for an elegant presentation.
