1

Cover tray with wax paper. Remove wrappers from chocolate bars; break into pieces.

2

Place milk chocolate pieces and 2 teaspoons shortening in medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at medium (50%) 1 minute; stir. If necessary, microwave at medium an additional 15 seconds at a time, stirring after each heating, until chocolate is melted and smooth when stirred.

3

Holding strawberry at top, dip bottom two-thirds of each berry into milk chocolate mixture; shake gently to remove excess. Place on prepared tray. Refrigerate about 30 minutes.

4

Repeat microwave procedure with dark chocolate pieces and remaining 1 teaspoon shortening in clean microwave-safe bowl. Dip lower one third of each berry into dark chocolate mixture. Place on tray; refrigerate until firm. Cover; refrigerate leftover dipped berries. For best results, use within 24 hours.

Tip

For a different look, dip strawberries at an angle rather than straight in.

Conventional Directions: Cover tray with wax paper. Melt chocolate pieces and shortening in top of double boiler over hot, not boiling water; stir until smooth. Remove from heat; prepare, dip and store berries as directed above.
